SeekBeats Drum Machine Synth App Reviews

Seekbeats is pretty much perfect as a synthesis beat creation app... which I believe is the authors original intent. Seekbeats sounds great, is easy and intuitive to use, and creatively inspiring. Ive been using this almost solely for beat creation since I downloaded it. The small gripe I have is that while composing I must open another app to play melodic sounds with... which means I must open Audiobus to synch the two apps. Three open apps drains the battery pretty fast and slows down the creative juices. Much faster than if simple melodic sounds could be programmed directly in Seekbeats. This wouldnt be an isissue if Seekbeats didnt sound so good, with depth and presence. Either my ears are failing me, or the delay integration isnt very good. When I adjust parameters related to delay I dont hear a difference. Reverb would be nice as well. In conclusion: for synthesis beat creation, Seekbeats is impressive while remaining accessible and intuitive in all the right ways. That that it does so much, so well, leaves me hoping for an expansion of it capabilities to include simple melodic programming and better delay integration. I highly recommend this app.

Great sounds and editing options. You can get some really rich tones and textures. Its a lot easier to program than Waldorf Attack.

Randomizer take effects on all pattern, seems you cannot have individual randomizer and drum parameter for different patterns. And it doesn’t have a timeline for parameter automation and it cannot export your patterns to audio file so you have to adjust parameters live and record it live through other apps, even worse, you can’t adjust parameters by midi signal, midi signal only trigger patters or drum.

iOS has a nice clutch of drum synths at this point but seek beats is the king. Perfect blend of sonic possibility and ease of use. Plus all that random business.

Synth is great, randomizer is great, sequencer is great.

Limited enough to foster creativity, functional enough to make the beats in your head a reality without getting in the way. I love that you can tinker with patches, then create a window of randomized variation for certain parameters. It adds a lovely element of humanity without you wasting a bunch of time fine-tuning each and every note. Great job!

This is the only app I have found that offers you access to control of the sound at such a fundamental level, in such a wide variety of ways, and with such powerful results. And then, through the hyperextensive randomization capabilities, allows you to completely lose that control giving you the best of both worlds. It accomplishes this w: Two sin/tri/squ/saw waveform osc, noiz osc, envelope editor for amp, filter, noiz, pitch, chorus fx, some intense and detailed distortion, assignable velocity control of almost all the aforementioned parameters on each note of each sound which are all then randomizable. All this within an interface which is deceptively unassuming and easy to use. It is primal yet elegant in both form and function. Just a couple little bugs that still cant prevent me from giving it 5 stars. I have never written a review for an app and I think the rarity is fittingly bestowed. But, Im just some guy. Spend the $12 and have hours of fun finding out for yourself.

As an owner of the new elective sampler and all the elektron machines, I can honestly say this sits right there amongst those machines. An absolute stunner. Indispensable to my new work flow. If it could sample I would marry it.

I love this app. Ive owned a lot of drum machines, hardware, software analog, digital, sample, synthesis based. This one is truly unique.

This is one of the best drum synths out there. Definitely one I go to when Im looking for something different from a sample based drum machine.

That said, a few features are missing for perfection: tap tempo & portrait orientation. Super inspirational drum machine with serious groove, hardware manufacturers should take a look and step up!

Sounds amazing, is gritty and organic, and has lots of fun and useful features. Probably if there were a hardware version of this thing, it would be entirely infamous. Worth the buy! Thank you.

Hi! This is a creatively fun and usable pattern drum making sequencer and versatile drum sound synth with small memory footprint. It honors virtual MIDI, CoreMIDI, MIDI Clock, remote transport control, remote drum pad triggering and now Ableton LINK. The sounds are simple—yet contemporary. The synthesis engine utilizes dual oscillators with min/max velocity trigger ranging for detailed controllability. The pads independently go thru a stack of filters to shape tonality and texture, or optionally use a nifty randomized sound generator/mutator. My favorite feature is a helpful visual graphing mode that one can manipulate anchors to help envision ones drum sound. Its a well developed compact app that works equally well on iPad, iPhone or both!

Incredible synth power and range, (literally) at your fingertips: hand draw amp, pitch, filter, and noise envelopes...randomizers...2 Osc per voice...

its like a10$ electribe er1!!! i have had tweakybeats on my iphones and ipad since the app came out and never deleted it. its is a classic app . . i love the randomize feature on apps and this one packs a sonic punch ...watch out!!! ring modulation would be great effects to add but as is it rocks . squeaks,squeals,bass drops and nasty cymbals are a trweak away.. ten stars if i could. i love thissooooo much..
